A California beach vacation often includes Venice Beach, Santa Monica Beach, or Manhattan Beach. The big three California beaches offer surfing, lifeguards, vendors and other entertainment. Popular California beaches are great places to stroll and enjoy a sunny day. For those who like sand and solitude, California’s state park beaches are the way to go. There are hundreds of beaches in California, from long stretches of sand which go on for miles, to little pocket beaches, which offer a day at the beach by yourself.
Finding some beaches in California can be difficult since in the major cities, some of the beaches are private and one needs to be a community member to use them. There are also some beaches which the local community tries to keep secret and often the only access is a narrow beach stairs between two homes. One of these secret community beaches even has an iron gate at the top, which makes the stairs look even more private. Fear not, with the help of other California beach lovers, this site will try to find each and every beach in California and give directions to it. We’ll try to get pictures of more difficult beaches to find and, of course, if there are any California beaches which you know about, please add the using the Add Beach feature at the top of the page.
