Lake Eleanor Nice small sandy clear water family friendly beach in Brethren Mi. Parking is along side the shore so you don't even have to walk the kids along side the road or across a busy intersection There is not any fast moving water so rafts, water tubes, noodles and water wings can be used with out to much fear of safety. Small closed in lake with no fear of running water joining into a river. A wood dock for little brave ones to feel big and jump from side into shallow water or 4 ft. tall kids jump in at end of dock. About 2ft. off the end of dock in water is a drop off. So bigger ones can drive from the dock. This dock makes it great swimming fun for all ages. There is no lifeguard on duty. No boats with motors allowed on lake and No pets or glass allowed on beach. You can picnic on a blanket in the grass, on a picnic table or under the shelters. Play area with swings. There are nice walking trails around the park for some sight seeing wildlife fun. And primitive out houses near for last minute rash to find (got to go right now). There is a Gas station, 2 ice cream shops and pizza shop with in walking distance from beach. R & J Resort Campground is about 1 3/4 miles just outside of town, five minutes away from the beach. Some of the best salmon, steelhead, walleye or trout fishing to be had at near-by rives like Tippy Dam on Big Manistee River. Come enjoy some fun by getting away from lives stress to relax in nature under a starlit sky.
