Ocracoke Island Beaches, North Carolina Description:

The beaches of Ocracoke Island in North Carolina have been listed by Conde Naste as some of the best beaches in the world. They are so wide, your feet burn gettubg to the water. They can be treacherous, sometimes with rip tides. Never crowded, white sand beaches, this is what beaches should be. A great stop to Ocracoke is in Williamston at Big Mill Bed & Breakfast. Get up, drive to Swan Quarter and take the 2 1/2 hour ferry ride to Ocracoke Island. This island in the Pamlico Sound is only accessible by boat. The little village of Ocracoke is charming and you will want to stay forever. The Pirate Blackbeard looted and died here. Some say he still is here. The natives speak with a Queen's English. Ocracoke has many beaches, they are all gorgeous and uncrowded.
