Ultra-secluded small south-facing beach at north end of pristine and clear Silver Lake in village of Leicester. No cars! You'll have to hike in from Goshen, Salisbury, or Brandon (hikes range from 0.6 mile to 3.5 miles, and hiking up from Salisbury includes a look at the Falls of Lana). Primitive restroom and small grassy picnic grove on site of former Silver Lake Hotel. Hiking trails surround the lake, and a few primitive campsites are on the east shore of the one-mile long Silver Lake. Indian artifacts have been pulled up from different spots in the lake. Not accessible to the disabled. From time to time there are groups hiking through, but generally the beach at Silver Lake is a calm retreat. Nearby villages are Brandon, Lake Dunmore, and Middlebury.
